GBS Corp Partners with HTP to Offer Healthcare Revenue Cycle Enhancement Solutions

January 16, 2007

As part of our continuing commitment to provide clients with cutting edge data management solutions, GBS Corp, headquartered in North Canton, Ohio, recently announced a strategic partnership with HTP, Inc. of Columbus, Ohio, a leading developer of software solutions for the healthcare industry. The resulting union allows the healthcare vertical of GBS to supply HTP's RevRunner software to clinics, physicians and hospitals. "This is a move that allows us to seriously enhance the service we give to our healthcare clients," said Jeff Fusco, Executive Vice President, GBS.

Since 1982, GBS has provided businesses in the healthcare industry with data management solutions that allow them to efficiently handle patient information with options ranging from software to document management services. "Those solutions focus on managing patient records," Fusco explained, "but when one of our Healthcare Account Executives brought HTP RevRunner to our attention, we realized it was the perfect complement to what we were currently providing. We knew we had to make it one of our solutions."

HTP RevRunner is a comprehensive, automated solution enabling healthcare providers to identify insurance eligibility and proactively monitor the status of claims. It speeds the revenue cycle by tracking every patient encounter and generating daily Exception WorkLists with detailed views of accounts that may require further attention to resolve payment issues. A practice, clinic or hospital using HTP RevRunner will realize maximized insurance reimbursements, identify more patient coverage, reduce insurance denials, increase cash collection at the point of contact, and minimize bad debt write-offs.

“We are very excited about GBS choosing to partner with HTP for their revenue enhancement offering,” said Leigh Orlov, VP of Business Development for HTP. “GBS is known for identifying and providing best-in-class solutions to their clients, and we’re thrilled our services will enable their hospital clients to increase revenue and better serve the patient populations in their communities.”

"GBS has spent 24 years helping healthcare accounts to efficiently manage patient information," Fusco said. "Now we can help them on the other side of the desk by identifying payment opportunities and accelerating reimbursement." He cited industry evidence showing that one-third of billing write-offs are avoidable, and that in many cases, 3 to 5 % of revenue is lost. By implementing HTP RevRunner, a business can dramatically improve these numbers by automating the administrative process.

"We at GBS are very excited about this partnership with HTP," Fusco said. "It's a move that brings new opportunity to both of our businesses and allows us to offer a critical new service to our healthcare clients."
